Apple Mail v7+

If you see a prompt to add an account when you open Apple Mail, skip to step 5:

  1. Open the Mail app on your computer.
  2. Select the Mail menu at the top, and then Add Account.
  3. Choose Google.
  4. Type your name.
  5. Type your full email address (username@your_domain.com).
  6. Type your password. If you use 2-step verification with your account, you'll have to enter an app password.
  7. Click Set up.
  8. Make sure Mail is selected and click Done.


Older Versions of Apple Mail

  1. Open the Mail app on your computer.
  2. Select theMail menu at the top, and then Preferences.
  3. Open the Accounts section.
  4. Click the + button in the bottom left corner.
  5. Type your name.
  6. Type your full email address (username@your_domain.com)
  7. Type your password and click Continue.
  8. Check your desired fields and click Create.
Many clients will automatically configure the appropriate IMAP connection settings for your account, but confirm that the connection settings your client configures are the same as what's listed below.

You can use the following information to configure your IMAP. If you have problems, contact us for further instructions.
  • Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    • imap.gmail.com
    • Port: 993
    • Requires SSL: Yes
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    • smtp.gmail.com
    • Port: 465 or 587
    • Requires SSL: Yes
    • Requires authentication: Yes
    • Use same settings as incoming mail server
  • Full Name or Display Name: [your name]
  • Account Name or User Name: please enter username@your_domain.com
  • Email address: please enter username@your_domain.com
  • Password: your Email password

Also, if you're having trouble sending mail but you've confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.
